New Zealand dlr rises after inflation data adds to rate hike case

Jan 21 (Reuters) - The New Zealand dollar NZD=D4 gained a third of a U.S. cent on Tuesday after higher-than-expected inflation figures added to the case the central bank will raise interest rates soon. News Search ID:nW9N0J600Q

The kiwi dollar jumped to $0.8311, from $0.8263 in early trade to be last at $0.8305.

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand holds its policy review next week and markets imply a one-in-four chance of a rate hike from a record low of 2.5 percent.
