OSLO, March 6 (Reuters) - Gas firm VNG VNG.UL has made a modest oil and gas discovery off Norway that was in line with expectations, a partner in the find, Rocksource RGT.OL , said on Thursday.

Preliminary estimates suggest the find could contain 20-50 million barrels of oil equivalent (boe), against the estimate range of 20-53 million boe Rocksource gave last month.

There is also potential for finding more oil and gas, Rocksource said in a statement.

The other partners in the discovery, which lies in production license PL 586 in the Norwegian Sea, are Spike Exploration and Faroe Petroleum .
