* Agreed to extension of settlement and curative period for Elk to complete

acquisition of singleton unit covering singleton oil field in southwest

Nebraska

* Says extension granted to allow remedy of a number of small over-riding

royalty interests

* Amendment of the purchase and sale agreement will be completed by 17 January

* Says under the amendment, curative steps are to be completed by 10 March with

an option for further extension to 11 April
