BRIEF-AngloGold Ashanti Q4 gold production at 1,229koz

JOHANNESBURG, Feb 19 (Reuters) - AngloGold Ashanti Ltd ANGJ.J :

* Strong Q4 production of 1,229koz, up 43 pct over Q4 2012 and 18 pct over previous quarter

* Says adjusted headline earnings normalised jump 49 pct to $164 mln

* Says 2014 capital expenditures expected to decline by 31 pct to between $1.3 bln and $1.45 bln

* 2014 production outlook estimated at between 4.2moz to 4.5moz

* Total cash costs $748/oz in Q4 -23% improvement on Q4 2012 and 8 pct improvement on prior quarter

* Says will not pay a final dividend

* Gold production for the first quarter of 2014 is estimated at 950koz to 1000koz
