March 4 (Reuters) - Australian Competition and Consumer Commission:
* Accc: opposes agl's proposed acq of macquarie generation
* Accc - considers that proposed acquisition is likely to result in substantial
lessening of competition in market for retail supply of electricity in New
South Wales
* Accc -formed view that proposed acquisition would be likely to result in
significant reduction in hedge market liquidity
* Accc - concluded that draft undertaking offered by AGL on 17 February was not
capable of addressing accc's competition concerns in market for retail supply
of electricity in NSW
