Australian dollar lifted by strong China trade data

Wed, 12 Feb - 12:15pm

SYDNEY, Feb 12 (Reuters) - The Australian dollar AUD=D4 gained more than a third of a U.S. cent on Wednesday after China's trade data far exceeded forecasts, an encouraging result for Australia's top export market.

The Aussie rose to $0.9060, from $0.9035 in early trade, pulling closer to this year's peak of $0.9087.

China is Australia's biggest export market.
