It was a nasty day in the markets on Friday, with no complex getting more badly gored than the US equity markets. Stocks suffered their worst week in 2 years; Friday’s 666-point slide on the Dow was the worst daily percentage decline since 2016 and there were steep losses in the S&P-500 and NASDAQ as well. However, trading volumes were light, cumulatively coming in at 5.3 billion shares across all three exchanges compared to the 7.33 billion average for the last 20 trading days.
