Gold finished up on the day, but off its best levels as a recovering dollar weighed on the precious metal. Silver and platinum each closed with modest gains, but palladium raced higher, tacking on another $10/ounce and closing the day out at a six-week high of $875. Conditions across a number of markets were very quiet.
